    About GoCardless

GoCardless is an online payments platform built around bank payments instead of cards. It collects one-off payments with Pay by Bank and recurring payments by Direct Debit.

In Australia it collects recurring payments by BECS Direct Debit. Recurring collections run automatically, and dates or amounts can be adjusted. Success+ retries failed payments at a better time, and Protect+ blocks fraudulent payers.

You can also send money out to customers or suppliers. It connects to over 350 apps and has an API for custom builds.

Pricing: GoCardless charges a fee per transaction with no set-up costs. Its Standard and Advanced plans charge a percentage plus a fixed amount per payment, with a cap, and a Custom plan is quoted. Add-ons are billed monthly. See their Australian pricing page for current fees.

    Why it suits tourism businesses

Tourism businesses use bank payments for recurring charges, such as memberships and club subscriptions, and for payments where card fees add up. Automatic retries cover failed collections.

GoCardless's Australian page lists BECS Direct Debit for subscriptions, membership fees, instalments and invoicing, and says there are no card fees on bank payments.
