Touch down at Mornington Wilderness Sanctuary Airstrip where a million acres of untouched tropical savannah and the spectacular gorge country of Fitzroy River and Wunaamin Miliwundi Ranges stretch before you. Paddle a canoe through peaceful Diamond Gorge. Take a cooling dip in Sir John Gorge. Enjoy a waterfall moment at Fitzroy Bluff. Explore the ancient Livistona gullies beside Mount Leake. Rise early to spot some of the 200+ bird species on a guided tour, and enjoy a sunset picnic surrounded by the sounds of the Kimberley. It’s one of several remote airstrips that make up the Kimberley Aerial Highway - your fastest scenic route to some of the region’s most iconic landscapes and unique accommodations. Charter flights to Mornington Airstrip are available from Derby, Broome, Kununurra or Fitzroy Crossing. If you’re staying at the Mornington Wilderness Sanctuary, land transfers to your accommodation can be arranged and guided land-based tours are available at the sanctuary. Pitch your own tent, or stay a few nights in glamping luxury and watch the plethora of wildlife come and go at Annie’s Creek.
