Abrolhos Island Discovery Tour from Kalbarri
About This Service
Begin your morning with a scenic departure from Kalbarri, flying over the township before tracking south along the majestic coastal cliffs that tower above Gantheaume Bay. These striking red sedimentary cliffs are over 400 million years old and were once part of an ancient coral reef system. Continue west across the Indian Ocean to the remarkable Abrolhos Islands, a chain of 122 islands and coral reefs located around 65 kilometres offshore. The Abrolhos are the southernmost true coral reef system in the Indian Ocean and one of the world's most important seabird breeding sites, with abundant marine life including sea lions, dolphins, and seasonal whales. Land on East Wallabi Island and enjoy a short walk to Turtle Bay, where the morning is spent swimming and snorkelling in calm, protected reef waters. Relax over an included lunch with tea and coffee, with Standard, Vegan, and Gluten-Free options available, before joining a guided nature walk to explore birdlife, neighbouring islands, and limestone cave formations. Your return flight to Kalbarri offers breathtaking aerial views of the Abrolhos coral atolls and the historic Batavia shipwreck site.
