SALA Festival: Reprise Exhibition at Hither & Yon

Throughout August, the Hither & Yon cellar door will host REPRISE, a new photographic exhibition by Tom Ling, presented as part of the 2026 SALA Festival.

Created using black-and-white film over the past year, REPRISE explores our connection to the ocean as a shared cultural space and the role coastal environments play in shaping identity, community and belonging.

Grounded in South Australia's coastal landscapes, the exhibition captures moments of gathering, pause and connection, while also reflecting on the environmental vulnerability of these places. Rather than depicting overt destruction, the work invites viewers to consider how human impact and ecological uncertainty are changing the environments that hold deep cultural and emotional significance.

REPRISE forms part of Tom Ling's ongoing exploration of how natural and built coastal spaces function as places of memory, connection and collective experience. Each image has been scanned from film and printed in large format.
